MVI GURUKULA

"They [children] went to Gurukula and learned self-control, cleanliness, truthfulness, and many other saintly qualities. The best of them were later fit to rule the country."

- Srila Prabhupada
(Acarya of MVI Gurukula)

Vedic Pedagogy

Guiding Principle

Schedule & Admissions

Three Elements of Vedic Pedagogy

1) Sambandha - Relationships
2) Abhideya - Processes
3) Prayojana - Outcomes

Sambandha - Understanding and highlighting the relationships between knowledge, the knower, and those affected by both is intricately woven into and is integral to the learning proccess.

Abhideya - It is not nearly enough to have practical skill and theoretical understanding of a topic or subject. A student must also have character. Abhideya denotes the process of building and developing the character of the student so they do not misuse the knowledge and skill they are learning and cause harm to themselves and society.

Prayojana - In Vedic pedagogy the primary goal of Gurukul education is Mukti (Freedom); freedom from the control and ravages of Lust, Anger, Greed, Delusion, Arrogance, and Envy in this life,  and freedom from Karmic consequences in the next .
